About Us
The Blackwell Heritage Farm is located in the hills of Flemington, New Jersey. The farm is named in loving memory of Robert Blackwell and his parents, A. Cornell and Helen Blackwell, for their love of the land and farming. The Blackwell Family farmed over 250 acres in Hopewell Township on land that is now Rosedale Park. The Blackwell’s have farmed in New Jersey since before the Revolutionary War.
The family relocated to Hunterdon county in 2011. The 72 acre multi-family farm was home to 4 generations. Buying the farm was a dream come true for Robert and his Daughter Rosemary B Green in helping to preserve the family heritage for future generations. Now the latest generation of farmers have emerged. The farm is operated by Roberts grandchildren Julie and Ed VanDoren and their 2 children.
The family is active in Hunterdon County 4-H. The youngest male member of the family has his great-great-grandfathers loving ways with chickens and cows. His dream is to one day take over the operation and follow in his great-grandfathers footsteps. Farming is a way of life that is born in you.
